ProSwing Announced Mid-Winter Break Camp

ProSwing will be holding a Mid-Winter Break Camp
February 20-23rd at ProSwing of Port Chester. The camp will focus on skill-based baseball instruction with an emphasis on fun! The camp will be held from 9:00-12:00p.m. Monday - Thursday, and athletes are separated by age and ability.

Athletic Development Program - Session 3

A message from Coach Brian :
The focus of the Athletic Development Program is multi-fold. We want to introduce the athletes to a structured fitness program that includes: a proper warm-up, mobility and flexibility, muscle activation, and movement preparation.

Each session will focus on a particular movement skill (linear, lateral, or absorption of force, i.e.: landing skills). This is taught in a step-by-step approach, and matched to the athletes' current cognitive and athletic ability. Students are progressed only when they show competence at the previous stage. This approach helps to instill confidence in the child, as well as provide a solid foundation for more advanced techniques and movements. All of this is done in a child-friendly atmosphere, using games to re-enforce these movements and techniques.

How to Throw a Base Runner Out (Catching Tips)

Join Coach Matty Maher as he breaks down the proper throwing mechanics to throw a stealing base runner out at second base. This video will help you generate more velocity and accuracy on your throw through proper footwork and correct energy transfer.

The average (above average) catcher throws out approximately 30% of stealing base runners, this video will help you increase that percentage!

Coach Ian's LIVE Hitting Clinic

Get “Locked In” for your season with a winter program providing 10 weeks of Live Pitching vs. Live Hitting beginning in January and running into mid-March. The program will consist of 4 pitchers each evening throwing to two catchers and challenging 8 live hitters. Each night will be capped at 12 players total to ensure safety and quality of at bats. Each pitcher will throw 40-50 pitches from a regulation mound from behind an L-screen, catchers will alternate innings, and hitters will face game-like situations.

OFF-SEASON WORKOUTS

ProSwing will be offering Off-Season Workouts for all baseball athletes ages 9-18. These workouts will be semi-private 5-on-1's where ProSwing coaches will be able to give personal attention in a competitive, fun enviroment. Twelve sessions will be offered. Each session will last sixty minutes with a primary focus on hitting and conditioning. You have a choice to choose either
Monday and Wednesdays
or
Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What Makes ProSwing After-School Clinic Different?

The ProSwing After-School Clinic will provide each player with professional instruction in hitting, pitching and fielding in order to develop a solid foundation for future baseball success. Mariano Rivera Gives a Pitching Lessons at ProSwing!

New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera has made quite an impact on Major League Baseball. He has solidified himself as arguably one of the greatest closers baseball has even seen. As he prepared himself to return to Yankee Stadium for spring training, he had to make a pit stop. Lucky for us, that pit stop was at ProSwing of Port Chester, to give a pitching personal pitching lesson to Graham! In conjunction with Iona H.S., Graham won a raffle prize he couldn't even imagine, a full hour of instruction from the Yankee closer.
