Speed, Quickness, and Agility Training
No matter what the sport – an athlete will move in a lateral, linear or vertical plane of motion. Most team sports consist of very few movements that occur only in a straight line. Nor do those movements occur at a fixed pace or for a fixed length of time. Basic speed training along with power training maximizes the athlete’s ability to move rapidly. Agility training helps an athlete to apply their speed to sport-specific scenarios. Agility and quickness training improves an athletes ability to change direction, brake suddenly and perform sport-specific skills with speed and dexterity. At ProSwing, we call it Speed, Quickness, Agility (SQA) training. The key difference between SQA and traditional training is that with SQA training the emphasis is on the neuro-muscular system.
By developing and honing the neurological firing patterns, the brain and body learn to work together much more efficiently. SQA concentrates on improving the individual's neuro-muscular system so that initial movement - whether lateral, linear or vertical - is automatic, explosive and precise. It's what helps a baseball player to be able to chase down a ball, or football players cut right-left-right. With on-going SQA drills, the neuro-muscular system is reprogrammed and restrictive mental blocks and thresholds are removed.
The result: An instinctively quicker athlete.
Improve overall speed, quickness, and agility through various means of training. We focus heavily on functional based movements in order to make an athlete bigger, stronger, and faster.
Learn the fundamentals of using proper biomechanics for your sport. Strong Emphasis on plyometric, reaction, footwork, and stabilization exercises.
